Hans Brassler StickpinPearl-in-Pond |
A small pearl floats above rippling, concentric
triangles (or teardrops) reminiscent of the ripples of a small
pebble falling into a quiet pond. This geometrically
striking stickpin was created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold,
circa 1910.
Hans Brassler was a jeweler who in the early 1900s found inspiration in a wide variety of cultures, historical periods and styles. He was adventuress in imaginatively marrying design elements reflecting an eclectic variety of sources. Hints of Art Nouveau, British Arts & Crafts, Neoclassical and Art Deco design can often be found in his jewels. This stickpin is beautifully crafted with a solid gold back and sturdy gold pin. (see photo below) The maker's mark of the Brassler workshop, an oval enclosing "14B", is stamped on the upper left side of the pin stem. Cost: $465 |
