Art Nouveau StickpinL'Art Nouveau! |
A beautifully sculpted stickpin of a serenely watchful woman with wild, flowing hair. A small pearl is set in the lower tresses. A wonderful example of Art Nouveau design. Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1900.
Women, nature and fantasy were three themes favored by Art Nouveau jewelers during the decades around 1900. This richly detailed jewel beautifully illustrates all three. The reverse of the stickpin (pictured below) is nicely crafted. The back is solid (not stamped out) and attached to the pin stem with a sturdy collet. The reverse is stamped "14K" for the purity of the gold. In the photo the gold mark is partially obscured by the pin stem. Cost: Although this elegant stickpin has sold, you will find many more fine stickpins in the Antique Stickpin Gallery. |
