The backs of the cufflinks are finely crafted in 14kt gold. Carrington & Company's attention to small details can be seen in the sturdy cross bars and raised brackets that secure the cufflinks on the cuff while protecting the backs of the gemstones.  The tops of the cross bars are stamped with "GOLD & PLAT." for the precious metals.

Carrington & Co. Attribution

Although these cufflinks are not signed with Carrington & Co's traditional maker's mark (a boxy "C" enclosing "14"), they are attributed to the Carrington workshop based on several design elements including the design of raised brackets and cross bars, the use of the "GOLD & PLAT." precious metal mark, and the fineness of the engine-turned (engraved) pattern on the platinum fronts.  Often Carrington pieces were left unsigned when they were specially commissioned by a favored retailer or, possibly, created for a private client.
