Carrington Onyx and Diamond CufflinksOnyx and Diamond! |
Black onyx set with sparkling diamonds is perhaps the epitome of Art Deco elegance. These beautifully crafted cufflinks are framed with bright white gold borders engraved with stylized Art Deco bell flower motifs. The diamonds are set in collets with mille grain edges. Created by Carrington & Co. in 14kt white and yellow gold, circa 1925.
All jewels, including fine cufflinks, should be closely examined from every direction. These cufflinks are beautifully constructed with 14kt yellow gold backs, strong cross bars and sturdy brackets. The yellow gold backs are polished to a mirror-like finish (please excuse the reflections from my camera).
The maker's mark of Carrington & Company - a "C" surrounding "14" - is stamped on the reverse of the cufflinks. The "14" indicates the purity of the gold. Carrington & Co. was a maker of fine cufflinks and dress sets from 1900 to about 1950. The firm created beautiful 14kt and 18kt gold cufflinks and dress sets during the Art Deco era for the finest jewelers of the day. Name: Onyx and Diamond!
