Antique Platinum and Pearl CufflinksPlatinum and Pearl! |
A beautiful example of Art Deco design. These white-on-white cufflinks feature mother of pearl centers with small white pearls surrounded by elegantly reeded platinum borders. Crafted in platinum and 14kt yellow gold, circa 1930.
As with all fine jewels, you should examine the backs of cufflinks as closely as the fronts. The reverse of these cufflinks are beautifully crafted in 14kt yellow gold polished to a mirror-like finish. (Please excuse the reflections from our camera.) Also note the maker's attention to detail and the sturdy brackets and cross bars that secure these cufflinks.
These cufflinks were made by the jewelry firm L.E. Garrigus & Company. The maker's mark for L.E. Garrigus is the double-ended scroll placed beneath the "14K" precious metal mark. The backs are also marked "PLAT & GOLD". L.E. Garrigus was a maker of fine gold and platinum cufflinks and other jewelry during the first half of the last century. The cross bars of Garrigus cufflinks are embellished with the maker's scrolling mark. Name: Platinum and Pearl!
