Blue Enamel and Diamond Cufflinks

Keller Blue and Gold

An amazing pair of Charles Keller "blue and gold" cufflinks.  The finely engraved centers are surrounded by blue enamel accents and a small, sparkling diamond is set on one side.  Crafted in 14kt gold,  circa 1920.

The cufflinks depict a leafy tangle of aquatic plants rising above rippling waters - perhaps an idyllic pond on a breezy day.  The theme of water and plants is echoed in the blue enamel accents that fill the corners.

The backs of the cufflinks are well crafted with sturdy cross bars and capped brackets.  The brightly polished surfaces have a mirror-like finish (please excuse the shadowy reflections from my camera.).

The maker's mark for Charles Keller & Company (a "C" surrounding "14" followed by "K") is stamped on the cross bars.  Charles Keller was a maker of fine gold and platinum cufflinks from 1885 to about 1930.  One of the specialties of the firm during the early decades of the 20th century was creating elegant gold cufflinks with blue enamel accents.
