This brooch is finely crafted with a sturdy gold frame supporting and protecting the enamel work.  Also, note the sturdy pin stem and c-clasp which secure the brooch when worn.  Krementz & Co. was a maker for fine brooches and stickpins known for the beauty of its jewels and the care with which they were created.

The upper half of the clasp displays the maker's mark of Krementz & Company - a stylized collar button somewhat resembling a two-handled umbrella.  Beneath the maker's mark "14K" is stamped for the purity of the gold.
