White Quartz and Gold CufflinksArt Deco White! |
Translucent foggy white chalcedonies (a fine grain variety of quartz) set in bright yellow gold bezels. The gemstones have the appearance of an early morning fog burning off with the first rays of the sun. A nice example of the luminous white jewels of the Art Deco era. Created by Sansbury & Nellis in 14kt gold, circa 1930.
Well crafted cufflinks are a joy from every direction. The backs of these cufflinks are beautifully crafted in 14kt yellow gold and polished to a bright finish (please excuse the reflections from my camera). The links are secured on the cuff by sturdy cross bars, stirrup connectors and strong strap brackets.
Sansbury & Nellis was a maker of fine cufflinks set with beautiful gemstones during the early decades of the last century. The firms's maker's mark ("S-N") is visible on the reverse of the cufflinks along with "14-K" for the purity of the gold.
