White Chalcedony CufflinksShimmering Fog |
White chalcedony set in rose gold. The
chalcedonies (a fine grain variety of quartz) shimmer like a
luminous fog lit by the warmth of the early morning sun.
These finely crafted cufflinks were created by Sansbury &
Nellis in 14kt rose gold circa 1930.
The backs of the cufflinks are beautifully crafted in 14kt rose gold and polished to a bright finish (please excuse any reflections from the camera). On the cuff the links are secured by strong cross bars, stirrup connectors and sturdy strap brackets.
These cufflinks are attributed to Sansbury & Nellis based on the design of the linkage and style of the cufflinks. Sansbury & Nellis was a specialist maker of fine gemstone-set cufflinks and stickpins during the early decades of the 20th century. A gold purity mark ("14K") is stamped at the base of the brackets.
