Elegant platinum and gold cufflinks set with blue Sapphires and sparkling Diamonds. The beautifully engraved platinum centers are surrounded by dramatic yellow gold borders. Crafted in platinum and 14kt gold, circa 1920.
 The backs of the cufflinks are crafted in 14kt yellow gold and polished to a mirror-like finish. (Please excuse the dark reflections from my camera.) Note the sturdy strap brackets and cross bars that secure the cufflinks on the cuff.
 The cross bars are marked "PLON14K" for platinum backed by 14kt gold. This style of platinum and gold cufflink was popular during the early decades of the last century.
Name: Sapphires and Diamonds II 
Sometimes known as "Night and Day" cufflinks, Sapphire and Diamond cufflinks were a reflection of the Victorian belief that diamonds should only be worn after dark. A gentleman could wear these cufflinks during the day with the sapphires facing outward. In the evening the cufflinks would be reversed to display the diamonds.
