Antique Gold CufflinksDiamonds and Garlands |
Jazz Age cufflinks sparkling with the celebratory, festive mood of the 1920s. This elegant pair features sparkling diamonds, golden garlands and bright white gold Art Deco borders. They are the cat's meow! Beautifully crafted by Wordley, Allsopp & Bliss in 14kt gold, circa 1925.
The backs of the cufflinks are crafted in 14kt yellow gold and polished to a mirror-like finish. (Please excuse the dark reflections from my camera.) The cufflinks are secured on the cuff with sturdy cross bars and the four-footed ("quad") brackets favored by the maker.
The cross bars are stamped "WAB", the maker's mark of Wordley, Allsopp and Bliss. WAB was a maker of cufflinks and other fine jewels during the early decades of the last century. Beneath the maker's mark is the precious metal stamp for 14kt gold ("14K").
