Art Deco Diamond CufflinksMesmerizing Diamonds! |
A hypnotic swirl of concentric circles set with a sparkling diamond. Dramatic black enamel borders complete the design. The cufflinks of the late Art Deco period often emphasized mesmerizing geometric patterns and intriguing optical effects. Created by Wordley, Allsopp & Bliss in 14kt gold, circa 1930.
The cufflinks are well constructed with sturdy cross bars and secure brackets. Note the sturdy four-footed bracket (to the left) which protects the back of of the diamond. An indication of the care with which the cufflinks were designed and crafted. The gold backs are polished to a mirror-like finish.
The cross bars are stamped with the maker's mark of Wordley, Allsopp and Bliss ("WAB"), makers of fine cufflinks and jewelry during the early decades of the last century. Beneath the maker's mark is the precious metal mark for 14kt gold ("14K").
