Art Deco Pinstripe CufflinksElegant Pinstripes |
Finely engraved pinstripes in yellow gold
surrounded by white gold borders with geometric box-and-cross
motifs. There is a simple elegance to the geometry
and bright contrasts of Art Deco design. Created by
Wordley, Allsopp & Bliss in 14kt gold, circa 1925.
The backs of fine cufflinks should be examined as closely as the fronts. These cufflinks are solidly constructed with sturdy quad brackets (four-footed) and strong crossbars to secure the cufflinks on the cuff. The yellow gold surfaces are smoothly finished and polished to a mirror-like glow.
Wordley, Allsopp & Bliss, the maker of these cufflinks, created fine cufflinks and other jewels during the early decades of the 20th century. The firm's mark - "WAB" with the letters adjoined - is stamped on the cross bars. On the opposite side of the cross bars "14K" is stamped for the purity of the gold.
