Elegant Onyx and Diamond Dress SetOnyx and Diamonds |
The sophistication of formal dress in the Jazz
Age is reflected in this elegant dress set. The full set
features polished onyx centers set with sparkling diamonds and
framed by jazzy Art Deco scroll borders. Created by
Wordley, Allsopp & Bliss in 14kt gold and platinum circa
1925. Complementing the cufflinks are three shirt studs and four vest buttons (one of each shown). The studs and vest buttons repeat the motif of onyx and diamond centers surrounded by bright S-curve borders. Important jewels should be examined closely from every direction. The backs of the cufflinks, shirt studs and vest buttons are crafted in 14kt gold polished to a bright finish. Note the sturdy quad (four-footed) brackets, links and cross bars that secure the cufflinks on the cuff. The shirts studs and vest buttons are equally well crafted. The maker of this elegant dress set, Wordley, Allsopp & Bliss, was founded in 1909 and created exceptionally fine cufflink, tuxedo and dress sets during the Edwardian and Art Deco eras. The maker's mark of Wordley, Allsopp & Bliss. ("WAB") is stamped on one side of the cross bars and the precious metal mark ("14K") is stamped on the other.
