Art Deco Cocktail CufflinksCocktails for Two! |
Golden cocktail glasses garnished with long-stemmed cherries. These miniature Manhattans are elegant cufflinks from the days of speakeasies, bathtub gin and Prohibition. Bottoms up! Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1930.
The cufflinks are as beautifully crafted as they are elegantly designed. The yellow gold bowls and bases are polished to a bright finish (please excuse the reflections from my camera) and connected with sturdy posts crafted in rose gold. The cherry stems are also rose gold and the cherries themselves are small, luminous coral beads.
The rose gold posts are stamped "14K" for the purity of the gold. To the right of the gold mark is the profile of a small acorn. Based on the similarity of other cufflinks with the acorn mark to cufflinks created by Carter, Gough & Co., I believe these intoxicating cufflinks were likely created by this venerable firm of jewelry makers.
