Infinite Squiggles

Myriad intertwining squiggles bring to mind water churning in tight, turbulent eddies or, perhaps, the fine grain of Japanese mokume-gane work.  The mesmerizing design is framed by octagonal borders with finely dimpled edges.  Created in 14kt gold, circa 1925.

The backs of these cufflinks are as finely crafted as the fronts.  Note the maker's attention to hidden details in the sturdy loop brackets and strong cross bars that secure these cufflinks on the cuff.  The mark for the purity of the gold ("14K") is stamped above the left bracket.
