![]() Mid Century Pearl Brooch![]() Pearls in the Breeze |
A striking brooch with windblown leaves (or are they wisps of smoke) accented with three luminous pearls. This beautifully sculpted brooch brings together elements of Art Nouveau design (especially in the whiplash curves) with the spare aesthetic of mid-century studio jewelry. We couldn't resist the temptation to nickname this brooch "Pearls in the Breeze." Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1950.
![]() The care with which the brooch was crafted is evident on the reverse. Note the strong, crisp edges that outline the design and the "cupped" settings that cradle the backs of the pearls. A sturdy pin stem and "C" clasp secure the brooch when worn.
![]() The top of the "C" clasp is stamped "14K" for the purity of the gold. To the left of the gold mark is an unidentified maker's mark - possibly a bird in flight. Name: Pearls in the Breeze |
