A lemony citrine and bright, luminous pearls set
in a golden bed of roses with trailing leaves. The warm
honey color of the citrine plays beautifully against the white
of the pearls. An entrancing brooch created by Hans
Brassler in 14kt gold, circa 1910. The back of the brooch is as finely crafted as the front. Note the sturdy frame which supports the citrine and pearls - the frame is a masterwork of precision craftsmanship and fine design. When worn the brooch is secured with a strong pin stem and early safety clasp.
Hans Brassler was an
imaginative jeweler, designer and artist who for a few years
in the early 1900s created a wonderful collection of
distinctive jewels. His work is valued for its striking
originality and unexcelled craftsmanship. The maker's
mark of Hans Brassler ("14B" inside a double oval) is stamped
on the top of the clasp.
