Elegant Laurel Wreath CufflinksLaurels to the Victor! |
Since ancient times laurel wreathes have been
a symbol of achievement and victory. These elegant gold
cufflinks from early in the last century tastefully announce
that the wearer is a winner! Crafted in 10kt gold,
circa 1900.
The cufflinks are well crafted with strong split bridges anchored in sturdy bean backs. They were created by Barry & Company, a maker of fine gold jewelry and other items based in Newark, New Jersey during the early 1900s.
One side of the bridges is stamped with the whimsical maker's mark of the firm - a carrot separating digits indicating the purity of the gold. In this case the mark can be read as "10 carrot", or more traditionally 10 karat.
