Brassler Citrine StickpinBrassler Lyre! |
The Neoclassic form of a lyre wedded with the
flowing, organic lines of Art Nouveau. This elegant
stickpin is accented with a smoldering orange citrine and a
small white pearl. Created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold,
circa 1910.
Hans Brassler was a wonderfully imaginative jewelry designer in the early 1900s who often mixed motifs and design elements from different eras, cultures and styles. He was born in Germany, studied jewelry design in Paris, and eventually immigrated to the United States. In 1909 he founded The Brassler Company, but created jewels with the firm for only a few short years. This beautifully crafted stickpin is secured with a sturdy gold pin stem. The maker's mark of The Brassler Company (a double oval cartouche enclosing "14" followed by "B") is stamped on the reverse beneath the pin stem. Cost: Although this elegant stickpin has sold, you will find many more fine stickpins in the Antique Stickpin Gallery. |
