Classical Revival Garnet PinGarnet and Pearls |
A petit Classical Revival pin set with a fiery red garnet and small luminous pearls. The gold is finely textured to give the jewel an ancient, glowing look as if it was just discovered in the ruins of Troy or ancient Greece. Created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold, circa 1910.
Brassler took as much care in creating the back of a jewel as he did the front. Note the crisp, clean edges and even surfaces. A sturdy pin stem and "C" clasp secures this jewel on a blouse, lapel or hat. Brassler was a gifted jewelry designer and goldsmith who created a wonderful collection of small jewels in the early 1900s.
The maker's mark of The Brassler Company
("14B" inside
a double oval) is stamped on the top of the clasp. Name: Garnet and Pearls
