Brassler Sapphire and Pearl StickpinSapphire and Pearl |
A rich blue sapphire and a luminous white pearl
set in a free-flowing Art Nouveau stickpin. A wonderful
example of the imaginative designs created in the early 1900s by
Hans Brassler. Crafted in 14kt gold circa 1910.
Hans Brassler was a wonderfully imaginative designer of jewels and other fine objects during the first half of the 20th century. For a half-dozen years he served as the chief designer of The Brassler Company, a jewelry firm he founded in 1909. He studied jewelry design in Paris and is rumored to have medaled at the 1900 Exposition Universelle. His work is noted for its originality and eclectic design sources. This well crafted stickpin is secured with a sturdy gold pin stem. The maker's mark of The Brassler Company (a double oval cartouche enclosing "14" followed by "B") is stamped in the upper left of the reverse. Cost: Although this elegant stickpin has sold, you will find many more fine stickpins in the Antique Stickpin Gallery. |
