Hans Brassler Star BroochRadiant Star |
A radiant star illuminated with small,
shimmering pearls and a deep purple amethyst. Between the
rays of the star are pearl-set fleurs-de-lis. A stellar
brooch/pendant created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold circa 1910.
The reverse of the brooch is as beautifully crafted as the front. The gold back is closed to give strength to the design and protect the small pearls. A sturdy pin stem and early safety clasp secure the jewel on a jacket lapel, blouse or hat. Above the pin stem is a hinged bale which allows the star to be suspended from a small chain and worn as a pendant.
The maker's mark of Hans Brassler ("14B" inside a double oval) is stamped on the top of the clasp. Hans Brassler was a uniquely imaginative jeweler who for a few years in the early 20th century created wonderfully original brooches, stickpins and other jewels. Name: Radiant Star
