Carrington Art Deco CufflinksLinear Squares! |
Carrington gold cufflinks with dramatic horizontal and vertical stripes. These cufflinks are a nice example of the bolder, more robust Art Deco designs of the late 1930s and 1940s Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1945.
Carrington & Company was one of the more inventive makers of fine cufflinks during the years from 1900 to the 1950. Based in Newark, New Jersey, the firm supplied beautiful gold and platinum cufflinks to the finest jewelers of the day.
The backs of the cufflinks are as well crafted as the fronts. The links are connected with sturdy cross bars and bevelled brackets. The reverse displays what I believe is a late maker's mark for Carrington & Company, a "C" surrounding "14" followed by "14K". Name: Linear Squares!
