Carrington Mother-of-Pearl CufflinksCarrington Whites |
Art Deco platinum borders surround luminescent
white mother-of-pearl centers. The brilliance of the
platinum perfectly complements the bright white of the
centers. These cufflinks are a beautiful example of the
rising fashion for white-on-white designs during the early
1930s. Created by Carrington & Company in platinum and
14kt gold, circa 1930.
The backs of cufflinks should be as closely examined as the fronts. The reverse of these cufflinks is crafted in 14kt yellow gold and polished to a mirror-like finish (please excuse the shadowy reflections from our camera). Carrington's renowned attention to small detail and careful design can be seen in the sturdy cross bars and brackets that secure these links on the cuff.
The maker's mark of Carrington & Company, a squared "C" enclosing "14", is stamped on the reverse of the cufflinks. On the other side of the brackets "GOLD&PLAT." is stamped for the precious metals - gold and platinum.
Carrington & Company was a maker of fine cufflinks and elegant dress sets during the first half of the last century. The firm created gold and platinum cufflinks for Tiffany & Co. and other fine jewelers of the day. Name: Carrington Whites
