Elegant Platinum and Gold CufflinksPlatinum Pinstripes! |
Among the most elegant cufflinks of the 1920s were the platinum and gold ovals created by Carrington & Company. This beautiful pair features linearly engraved centers surrounded by spiralling, twisted-ribbon borders. The platinum surfaces have a mesmerizing mirror-like finish. Crafted in platinum and 14kt gold, circa 1925.
The backs of the cufflinks are beautifully crafted in 14kt gold. Carrington's attention to fine detail can be seen in the sturdy cross bars and strong brackets that secure the links on the cuff. Beneath the brackets the backs are stamped "GOLD & PLAT" for the precious metals.
The cross bars are stamped with the maker's mark of Carrington & Company, a "C" surrounding "14". Carrington was a maker of fine cufflinks and dress sets from 1900 to 1950. Based in Newark, New Jersey, the firm provided elegant platinum and gold cufflinks to many of the finest jewelers of the day. Name: Platinum Pinstripes
