Art Deco ElegancePlatinum Snowflakes! |
Shimmering snowflakes falling in frosty platinum skies. These cufflinks sparkle with the cool, wintry elegance of later Art Deco design. Created by Carter, Gough in platinum and 14kt gold, circa 1930.
The backs of the cufflinks are beautifully crafted in 14kt yellow gold polished to a bright finish. (Please excuse the reflections from my camera.) The maker's attention to fine detail can be seen in the sturdy brackets and strong cross bars that secure these cufflinks on the cuff.
These elegant cufflinks were created by Carter, Gough & Company, a maker of fine gold and platinum cufflinks during the early decades of the 20th century. The reverse of the cufflinks are stamped "14K PLAT" for the precious metals. To the right of the precious metal mark is the maker's mark of Carter, Gough - an arrowhead enclosing a small "C".
