Elegant Platinum and Gold CufflinksDurand Platinum and Gold |
Finely engraved cufflinks with radiant yellow
gold centers that play beautifully against of the shimmering
white of platinum edges. These elegant cufflinks shimmer
and dance in the light. A testament to the artistry and
craftsmanship of the cufflink makers of the early 20th
century. Created by Durand & Company in platinum and
14kt gold, circa 1910.
The backs of the cufflinks are as finely crafted as the fronts. Note the sturdy brackets and strong cross bars which secure these cufflinks on the cuff. This linkage design was specially created and patented by Durand & Co. in 1908. The Durand firm, like other cufflink makers of the early 1900s, took exceptional care with even the smallest details when designing and crafting their cufflinks. The reverse of the cufflinks are stamped with the maker's mark of Durand & Co. - a horseshoe crossed by a farrier's nail creating a stylized "D". To the right of the maker's mark "14K" is stamped for the purity of the gold while below the brackets is "& PLAT" indicating platinum.
