Egyptian Revival Cufflinks

Egyptian Revival!

During the 19th and early 20th centuries,  jewelry and cufflink makers were often inspired by the arts and myths of ancient civilizations.  Lotus blossoms and stylized papyrus fronds grace these exuberant Egyptian Revival cufflinks.  With a bit of elegance worthy of a Pharaoh, the beveled edges of the cufflinks are accented with a dramatic meander traced in black enamel.  Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1910.

The backs of the cufflinks are as beautifully crafted as the fronts. Note the solid gold backs and the sturdy cross bars and brackets that secure the cufflinks on your cuff.  The cross bars are stamped with the maker's mark for Wordley, Allsopp and Bliss ("WAB") and the "14K" for the purity of the gold.  Wordley, Allsopp and Bliss was a maker of fine cufflinks and jewelry during the first half of the last century.
