Elegant Art Deco CufflinksBlack Tie |
Ornately engraved gold centers framed by black
enamel wings and jazzy zigzag borders. These cufflinks
reflect the exuberant flair of Jazz Age elegance. They
would add a little pizzazz to any black tie affair or a casual
evening out. Finely crafted in 14kt gold and platinum,
circa 1925.
The backs of the cufflinks are beautifully crafted. Note the sturdy edges that strengthen and support the enamel tops. Sturdy "fleur-de-lys" brackets and solid cross bars secure these cufflinks on the cuff. And, as a finishing touch, the gold backs are polished to a bright finish - please excuse the shadowy reflections from the camera.
The cross bars are stamped "PLAT." and "14K" for the purity of the precious metals. The distinctive shape of the cross bars and fleur-de-lys brackets indicate that these cufflinks were created by an unidentified maker of fine cufflinks who has come to be known as the "Fleur-de-Lys Bracket Maker". Working in the 1920s and likely into the 1930s, this anonymous jeweler created particularly elegant cufflinks in platinum and gold. Name: Black Tie
