Honeycomb

A honeycomb of hexagons floats above a background of fine lines.  The design is a jazzy example of the elegant geometry of the Art Deco period.  These cufflinks were finely crafted by Charles Keller & Co. in 10kt gold circa 1925.

The backs of the cufflinks are as finely crafted as the fronts.  Note the sturdy curved cross bars and rounded brackets that secure these cufflinks on the cuff.  The edges of the cufflinks, brackets and crossbars have been gently contoured to ease their passage through a button hole.

The cross bars are stamped with the maker's mark of Charles Keller & Company - an elongated "C" surrounding a "10" (for the purity of the gold) followed by a "K".  The top of the "C" and "K" are partially obscured by the rounded edge of the crossbar.  Charles Keller was a maker of fine gold cufflinks from the late 1800s into the early 1930s.
