Elegant Gold and Platinum CufflinksArt Deco Elegance! |
Some of the most elegant cufflinks of the 1920s combined the warmth of antique gold with the coolness of platinum. This pair beautifully displays the cool geometric design of the Art Deco era. Crafted in 14kt gold and platinum, circa 1925.
The platinum centers are engraved with alternating light and shaded squares. The cufflinks literally dance and sparkle in the light. Unfortunately, the elegant effect is not adequately captured with still photographs.
These cufflinks are beautifully crafted with sturdy cross bars and bracket mountings. The 14kt gold backs are nicely polished to a mirror-like finish. Please excuse the dark reflections from our camera.
The reverse of the cufflinks display precious metal marks for platinum ("PLAT") and 14kt gold ("14K"). Between the precious metal marks is the maker's mark, a navette enclosing a letter or symbol (perhaps a script "L" or an "&"). I have not identified this maker.
