Art Deco Zigzag CufflinksRadiant Zigzag |
Finely engraved, zigzag waves radiate outward
toward jazzy Art Deco borders in white gold. The radiant
energy of the centers is perfectly balanced by the jazzy
geometry of the borders. A miniature masterpiece of Art
Deco design created by Richardson & Co. in 14kt white and
yellow gold circa 1925. The reverse of the cufflinks is crafted in 14kt yellow gold polished to a bright finish. The cufflinks are secured on the cuff by a sturdy bridge and pivoting bracket design favored by Richardson & Co. Note that one end of the cross bar is stationary while the other is hinged to ease the passage of the cufflinks through a button hole. (Please excuse the shadowy reflections of the camera.)
The Richardson Manufacturing Company, founded in 1840, was one of the earliest makers of fine cufflinks and jewelry in the United States. During the 1920s and 1930s the firm created finely crafted Art Deco cufflinks that captured the elegance and excitement of the Jazz Age. The firm's maker's mark, a fancy "R" followed by "14K", is stamped on the cross bars of the cufflinks. Name: Radiant Zigzag
