Tiger Eye and Rose Gold CufflinksTiger Eyes and Rose Gold! |
Striking cufflinks with beautiful Tiger Eyes set in rose gold. The domed Tiger Eye cabochons are brown accented with rich honey yellow "eyes." Created by Sansbury & Nellis, circa 1920.
The early 1900s was a period of rapid innovation in cufflink design. Cufflink makers tried to outdo each other in creating cufflinks that were both easy to put on and securely attached once on the cuff. This pair of Sansbury & Nellis cufflinks is an example of the "spool" design that was briefly popular in the years around 1920.
Sansbury & Nellis was a maker of fine cufflinks set with beautiful gemstones during the early decades of the last century. The firms's maker's mark ("S-N") is visible on the inside of the cufflinks along with "14-K" for the purity of the gold.
