Art Deco CufflinksRippling Pond |
Centers finely engraved with a repeating
ripple pattern are surrounded by borders with stylized water
lilies and waving grasses. The design is reminiscent of a
breeze gently blowing ripples across a pond on a calm summer
day. A fine example of the richly detailed cufflinks
briefly favored during the Art Deco period. Crafted in
14kt white and yellow gold, circa 1925.
The backs of the cufflinks are well crafted in 14kt yellow gold and secured on the cuff with sturdy cross bars and strap brackets. The yellow gold is polished to a bright finish. Please excuse the shadowy reflections from the camera.
The cross bars are stamped with the maker's mark of Heidell & Trow (a "T" above an "H"). Heidell & Trow was active during the Art Deco period and created fine cufflinks often engraved with richly detailed designs. Beneath the maker's mark is stamped "14" for the purity of the gold.
