Elegant Art Deco CufflinksTaylor Torpedoes |
Elegant antique gold centers framed by finely
detailed, tiered white gold borders. The striking
"torpedo" shape of these cufflinks is highlighted with black
enamel accents. Created by Taylor & Co. in 14kt
gold, circa 1930. Taylor & Co. cufflinks often wedded Art Deco elegance with Machine Age chic. Given the crisp, detailed crafting of its cufflinks it is little surprise that the firm's maker's mark was a draftsman's T-square. The backs of these cufflinks are as carefully crafted and designed as the fronts. Note the thickness of the edges that help protect the decorative fronts and the sturdy brackets and cross bars that secure the cufflinks on the cuff. The maker of these cufflinks, Taylor & Company, was known for crisp, fine details and precise execution of its designs. The cross bars are stamped with the maker's mark of the Taylor & Company - a draftsman's T-square - flanked by "14" and "K" for the purity of the gold. The firm was founded by John N. Taylor in 1906 and created elegant cufflinks and other jewels into the 1930s. Name: Taylor Torpedoes
