Mesmerizing moss agates swirl with a tangle of green inclusions that brings to mind seaweed floating in filtered sunlight above the ocean floor. Diamonds set in platinum add an elegant sparkle. Created by Carrington & Co. in platinum and 14kt gold, circa 1920.

Complementing the cufflinks are three shirt studs. Like the cufflinks, the studs feature moss agate octagons centered with small diamonds set in platinum.

The Carrington & Co. was renowned for elegant design, fine materials and impeccable craftsmanship. The care with which Carrington created jewels can be seen in the sturdy brackets and cross bars that secure these cufflinks on the cuff. Please excuse the shadowy reflections of my camera in the photo.

The maker's mark of Carrington & Company (a squared "C" enclosing "14") is stamped on the reverse of the cufflinks. Carrington & Co. was founded in 1900 and created fine cufflinks and dress sets for Tiffany & Co. and other carriage-trade jewelers of the day.

Measurements: These 14kt gold and platinum cufflinks are 1/2" in diameter and weigh a total of 6.6 grams. The shirt studs are 5/16" in diameter and just over 1 1/4" in length.
