Mother of Pearl and Gold CufflinksSnowdrops! |
Wonderful cufflinks featuring mother of pearl centers surrounded by reeded white gold borders. The white-on-white motif of mother of pearl and white gold reminds us of snowdrops poking through the late winter snow. Crafted in 14kt white and yellow gold, circa 1920.
As with all fine jewels, you should examine cufflinks closely from every direction. The backs of these cufflinks are well crafted in 14kt yellow gold. You can see the maker's attention to detail in the sturdy brackets and cross bars that secure the links.
These cufflinks were crafted by the jewelry firm Carter, Gough & Company, makers of fine gold and platinum jewelry during the first decades of the last century. The maker's mark for Carter, Gough is an arrowhead surrounding a small "C". The arrowhead is visible just to the right of the precious metal mark "W - 14K" on the back of each link.
