Carter Moss Agate Cufflinks![]() Carter Moss Agate |
| Alluring moss agates set amidst the warm glow of
yellow gold bezels. The moss agates swirl with a tangle of
green inclusions reminiscent of seaweed drifting in filtered
sunlight just beneath the ocean's surface. These elegant
cufflinks were created by Carter, Gough in the less-cluttered
style of the late Art Deco period, circa 1930. Moss agate is a fine-grained variety of transparent quartz prized for its dramatic green inclusions. This striking gemstone was a favorite among the makers of gentlemen's accessories and fine cufflinks during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. ![]()
The yellow gold backs of the cufflinks are as carefully crafted as the fronts. Note that the backs are closed to protect the moss agates and finished with smooth surfaces and crisp edges. When worn sturdy cross bars and tube brackets secure these cufflinks on the cuff. ![]()
