Platinum and Diamond CufflinksDiamond Elegance! |
Elegant early Art Deco cufflinks set with sparkling diamonds. The platinum tops are beautifully engraved with repeating sunrise or wave motifs and surrounded by laurel wreath borders. The diamonds are set in platinum bezels with mille grain edges. Crafted in platinum and 14kt gold, circa 1920.
As with all fine jewels, you should closely examine the underside of cufflinks. The backs of these cufflinks are beautifully crafted in 14kt yellow gold. Note the sturdy cross bars and brackets which secure the links on the cuff. The elegant gold backs are polished to a mirror-like finish (please excuse the reflections from my camera).
The cross bars are stamped with the maker's mark ("14 I KT" in a surrounding frame) of the jewelery firm, Irving Heidelscheimer. Based in Newark, New Jersey, Irving Heidelscheimer was a maker of fine cufflinks and other jewels during the early decades of the last century.
