Art Deco Diamond CufflinksKeller Diamonds! |
Elegant Art Deco cufflinks set with sparkling diamonds and decoratively engraved with an "M" on one link and an "S" on the other. The Old English letters could be the initials of the original wearer or of a husband and wife, if the cufflinks were given as a gift. Created by Charles Keller & Co. in 14kt gold, circa 1925.
The backs of the cufflinks are crafted in 14kt yellow gold and polished to a mirror-like finish. (Please excuse the reflections from my camera.) Note the sturdy winged bridges and capped brackets that help secure the links on the cuff.
The maker's mark for Charles Keller & Company (a "C" surrounding "14" followed by "K") is stamped on the cross bars. The upper and lower branches of the "C" are partially obscured by the curved profile of the bridge. Charles Keller was a maker of fine gold and platinum cufflinks from 1885 to about 1930.
