Onyx and Pearl Dress SetTuxedo Junction |
The early decades of the last century was a
time of elegant and sophisticated attire. No gentleman was
truly dressed unless his tuxedo or dinner jacket was accented
with an elegant pair of cufflinks and matching shirt
studs. Often a distinctive dress set was given to a young
man upon graduation or by his future bride for their wedding
day.
This stylish dress set features a pair of cufflinks (pictured above), two shirt studs and four vest buttons. They feature slightly concave onyx tops centered by a small pearl and framed in white gold. The backs of the jewels are 14kt rose gold. The dress set is from the Art Deco era of the 1920s and 30s. Cost: This antique dress set has sold, but you will find many more wonderful dress sets and pairs of cufflinks in our Antique Cufflinks Gallery. Complementing the cufflinks, are four vest buttons .... and a pair of shirt studs. This elegant dress was created by Krementz &
Company. Krementz was founded in 1866 in Newark,
New Jersey and is known for the many wonderful small enamel
flower brooches the firm made during the late Victorian and
Art Nouveau eras. Krementz also made distinctive jewels
for men, including cufflinks and dress sets. In
fact, the Krementz maker's mark was a stylized cuff
button. |
