Elegant Platinum and Gold CufflinksPlatinum and Gold II |
Elegant platinum and gold cufflinks that capture the style and elegance of the 1920s. The yellow gold centers are richly engraved with radiant star bursts and stylized palmette motifs. The platinum borders are decorated with bold geometric patterns characteristic of the Art Deco era. Crafted in 14kt gold and platinum, circa 1925.
In the 1920s and 1930s two-tone cufflinks (usually platinum and yellow gold or white and yellow gold) were the ne plus ultra of a debonair gentleman's dress. The elegance of the style and beauty of the craftsmanship epitomize the saying "Putting on the Ritz."
The 14kt gold backs of the cufflinks are as well crafted as the fronts. The links are connected with sturdy cross bars and secured by decorative trifid brackets. The yellow gold backs are polished to a mirror-like finish - please excuse the reflections from our camera.
The cross bars are stamped with the precious metal marks for platinum ("PLAT.") and gold ("14K"). We have not yet identified the maker of these cufflinks, but believe the distinctive trifid brackets will be a helpful clue.
