| Rose blossoms, a curling acanthus
leaf and hanging bellflowers frame a vibrant green
peridot. A band of white enamel provides contrast along
the inner edge. This finely detailed stickpin is a
celebration of Nature with symbols of love (roses), health
(acanthus) and gratitude (bellflowers). An auspicious
talisman for any wearer. Created by Whiteside & Blank
in 14kt gold, circa 1900.
Whiteside & Blank was a maker of finely crafted stickpins, cufflinks and other jewels during the late Victorian era and early decades of the 20h century. The maker's mark of the firm (an arrow piercing a crescent moon) is stamped on the lower left of the back along with "14" for the purity of the gold (see photo below).
